Your child’s dental appointment is very important to us at CVFD.

You can bring your children into the clinic for a general examination or if you notice anything ‘out of the ordinary’.

It is great for kids to become familiar with the dental clinical environment from as young as one or two years of age, so the earlier the better.

Our oral health therapist sees children up to and including 17 years of age for dental treatment.

We recommend the following things to prepare for your child’s dental visits:

  • Twice daily brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, once in the morning and once at night for 2 minutes each time.
  • Supervise & assist your child when brushing until 8 years of age
  • Do not bribe your child, don’t tell them it will ‘hurt’, and never use the dentist as a punishment
  • Always remain positive and calm. Try not to be anxious or show outward angst yourself! Parents play a very important role in dental visits.

We regularly provide free oral health promotional/educational services at local schools and community groups.

If you are interested in hosting our oral health therapist to provide a presentation at your school/organisation please contact us on 8842 2010.
